Hi everyone, it’s Lily here! I’m back from chofesh (my 48 hour break) and excited to get back into the swing of things at Mosh. From what I heard, yesterday was a fun day despite it being ACA (American Camping Association) day. Visitors from the ACA visited Mosh to inspect us and make sure we were worthy to be an accredited camp – lucky for us, we passed the inspection 100%!
This morning, we did a Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) trip outside of machaneh (camp). The Tzimukim, Tzofim and Bonim picked corn at First Fruits Farm, who we’ve worked with several times before. First Fruits provides fresh produce to area food banks and soup kitchens. The Bogrim and Madatz volunteered at the Perry Point Veteran’s Hospital, spending time with veterans and making their day. Tikkun Olam is an amazing chance for the kids to volunteer directly with the local community and get a real taste of social justice in action.
