Yesterday machaneh took part in Tikkun Olam (healing the world/community service). Each shichvah (age group) worked on their Tikkun Olam project for the morning. Some chanichim (kids) built a bench for Habitat for Humanity, worked at local farms, and others went to a group home for mentally disabled adults.

The Solelim went to the Harford Center and read stories and solved puzzles with several of the residents. One resident wanted to rap, so Gabe, a madrich (counselor) beat-boxed and he sang over it. Another resident shared his headphones and music with several of the Solelim. Some were asked to arm wrestle with another resident, who is known as the arm wrestling champion.

After spending time with the residents, the chanichim went outside and worked in the greenhouse and garden. They weeded in the garden, washed flower pots, and picked cherries under grapevines.
