Cheering & ruach

Cheering is an essential part of machaneh (camp). We cheer and sing songs in the chadar ochel (dining hall), with our kvutzah and shichvah (age group), in the shower, all day long.

We cheer to see who has the most ruach (spirit/energy) and who can out-ruach the other. We cheer and sing songs because it brings us together and gives us something special we can all do. The shichvah cheers give shichvot pride and energy. The songs we sing allow us to have kumsitz (medurah/campfire songs) and Shabbat Shira (Shabbat singing). The songs and cheers are as much a part of Mosh as the tzrifim (cabins), ohelim (tents) and our land is. We’re an energetic machaneh, and we love to show it through ruach and cheering.

What’s your favorite cheer or song from Mosh?
