Rikud (Israeli Dancing)

Most kids at Mosh learn rikud by watching and joining in. Madrichim also help kids learn the dances by shouting out steps. Photo by Marlena Chertock.

After the oneg on Friday nights everyone runs to the basketball court to continue the festivities and fun of Shabbat. Rikud (Israeli dancing) goes on for an hour and there are circle dances, traditional Israeli dances, newer Israeli dances, a few American dances with Mosh’s or a shikvah’s own twist on them and just all around energy.
